Successful family business returns to Pulham Market

A well-known DIY and builders’ merchants in Pulham Market has returned to independent family ownership after more than a decade.

CTS DIY & Building Supplies was acquired by national chain Buildbase in 2007 but the Scott family, who started the business 40 years ago, have now restarted the original company returning it to its roots.

Laurie Scott and Donna Eaton will be taking the helm of the business their father Trevor began in a rented barn before moving into their own premises and building a thriving company employing up to 20 staff at its peak.  The pair say they are thrilled to be bringing back a familiar name to their local community.

Laurie said: ”Both Donna and myself have gone off to do other things in our careers but the opportunity to rekindle a business we loved so much growing up has been too tempting to pass up.  So, when Buildbase decided not to renew their lease, we both carefully explored the possibility of restarting CTS and making it the popular local firm it always was.”

CTS DIY & Building Supplies has already reopened and welcomed back many old and new customers.  Their store in Mill Lane, Pulham Market is open to both the public and trade and has been modified to comply with social distancing rules.

Donna added: “We are retaining the same values CTS always had, of friendly customer service, honest advice and expertise, and stocking a wider range of products than many of our competitors.  But we also want to adapt our offering to the current climate, so we will shortly have a new e-commerce website up and running with a click and collect service and deliveries to the local area.”

CTS DIY & Building Supplies is open six days a week, from 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and between 8.00am and 12noon on Saturdays.
